Cookies Policy

Last updated: 19 July 2026

The short version: we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is what keeps you signed in.

1. What this covers

This policy covers cookies and similar technologies (like browser local storage) used on storiesthatremember.com.

2. Strictly necessary — signing in

WhatPurposeTypeDuration
Authentication sessionKeeps you signed in between pages, via our authentication provider (Supabase)Browser local storage (not a traditional cookie)Until you sign out, or clear your browser data

This is essential to the service working — without it, you'd need to sign in again on every page. Because it's strictly necessary, it doesn't require separate cookie consent under UK PECR rules, but we're telling you about it here for full transparency.

3. What we don't use

As of the date above, we do not use:

If this changes in future — for example, if we add analytics to understand how the site is used — we'll update this page and ask for your consent via a cookie banner before anything non-essential is set.

4. Third-party requests

Our pages load typefaces from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). This is a request to Google's servers to fetch font files, which means your browser's IP address is visible to Google as part of that request, under Google's own privacy policy. Google Fonts does not set advertising cookies for this kind of request.

5. Controlling storage in your browser

You can clear local storage and cookies at any time through your browser's settings — this will sign you out of Stories That Remember. Most browsers also let you block local storage entirely, though this will prevent you from staying signed in.
